Here we are one week in to our Christmas in July Series. We made It! And to celebrate lets try the CKC knotted headband. This is a tutorial available on the CKC Pinterest board and blog. The blog says to use hosiery and cut the tops and bottoms off but I wanted to use some of my DBP scraps so I cut 2 pieces about 4-5 inches wide and about 30 inches long. Day 6 in our Christmas in July Series an we are looking at Petite Stitchery & Co's needle organizer.  If you have sewing friends on you list ( I think this includes yourself)  this is a good project to add to the todo list.  Great to use up some cotton woven scraps, and I cheated a bit on the materials list. Well 5 days in, lets see what we have for today..  Duck Butt Designs Plain Pants. So funny ( or not) story about this pattern, I just assumed it was a kids photo based on the cover photo. Day 4 of our Christmas in July free pattern series brings us to the Hey June  girls Racerback dress. One great thing about this pattern is at least in the smaller sizes if offers a lot of fun with our in-house panels.  I made a 3T for our daughter using one adult panel and our Heathered DBP.  The back of this dress can easily be made using gathers or pleats. I went for a finger pleat mostly because I dint want to get my sewing machine out in the middle of serging. I have a smaller work space so only...

Day 3 brings us to Made for Mermaids gift bag/wine bag.   This is a free pattern available on m4m website. I highly recommend joining their face book group too, I see so much inspiration in that group and everyone is very friendly.  This DIY offers a neat way to dress up a simple gift.  A last minute bottle of wine becomes a well thought out gift simply by adding this cute bag. This bag is as easy as it gets. a couple straight lines, a hem, and a scrap of lace or ribbon and tada you are all fancy...
