Our Favorite Fabrics
"Why do you like (insert fabric)?" Is a good question I see a lot along with "What should I make with this fabric?".
Everyone has a favorite fabric or one they just wish for and love. I asked the team what their favorite fabric in the shop is and why they love it so. I wanted to share what they said.
Brandi, our fearless leader's current obsession is Belle on Cream in cotton french terry. This custom was one we did as a fundraiser for natural disaster victims in Texas around the time of Hurricane Harvey. She hoarded some to make her girls Jessi Hoodies by Coemi. Brandi said she loves how our cotton french terry is both soft and structured.
Elizabeth is all heart eyes for the dark blue Andromeda. She snatched some up in DBP and is planning on turning it into a pair of Inspires by Green Style.
Shelbie is obsessed with the huge scale of Ellie on White. This print was an oops from the printer, the scale is massive and quite amazing. She has been day dreaming of this beauty for leggings or a cardigan, maybe duster length to fit one elephant (lol).
Wendy recently fell hard for the Heathered french terry and some of it magically jumped into her cart! she has plans of making some draped tops as well as a raglan using one of our in-house panels. Wendy thinks Emi is a great option to coordinate as well.
April and Jenna hilariously chose the same fabric! Emi on Acid Seafoam. Jenna sees it paired with a hot pink solid for the perfect maxi dress. April has some of this beauty currently on the way to her and can't wait to get her hands on it.
As for myself, choosing a favorite print is a quite an internal struggle. I either have some on hand or have some headed my way of all the prints that the rest of the team chose (yes, I know I have a problem!). Our fabrics are just so amazing, it's hard to say no. However I absolutely have a favorite fabric type. Our custom printed athletic double brushed poly is just heavenly. It is simply my ALL time favorite fabric. I love the structure, feel, stretch and weight of this fabric. Colors print on it extremely vibrantly and I haven't had any issues with it fading or piling. If I life or death had to choose a favorite print, it would be one we have in the making right now ( sneak peaks coming soon) or Emi ( making her third appearance soon).
Emi holds a special place in my heart, since she was not only our first custom, but also my first design.
So there you have it. These are the favorites of each of our team members. What is your favorite fabric, whether it be current or one from the past, one you own or one you really want. What would you make with it if you had some on hand? Let us know in the comments below!
After all, you never know, maybe someone will find their favorite in their mail box!
