Ohh.My.GOODNESS!!!!! When I saw the TanacrossĀ from Pattern Niche I was like š that looks super cute andĀ super comfy.... I knew I NEEDED to make one for my new fall wardrobe. I grabbed some AMAZING Chunky Waffle Knit,Ā pulled up the pattern and prepared myself for a night of sewing. Little did I know that not only is this the most comfortable cardigan I've EVER owned, it's also probably the EASIEST pattern I've ever sewn!!!Ā
Ā Ā
I sewed my first Tanacross up and was SHOCKED at how fast it went.... I had planned on spending my whole evening sewing this up, but instead I found myself wondering what the heck I was supposed to do now. I mean I could maybe actually go to bed at a decent time, or throw caution to the wind and sew up a few more. Let me just warn you once you sew one of these AMAZING caridgans up you are going to be ADDICTED and sew up a MILLION more!!!! That's right, I decided I don't really need sleep when I can SEW right?!?!?! š¤£š¤£š¤£ I had some BEAUTIFUL Ivory and Gold Sweater Knit that I had grabbed from the SALE section that was PERFECT for sewing up my next one!!!
Ā Ā
Can I just say.... BEST DECISION EVER!!!! I LOVE this cardigan....Ā From start to finish it takes me 49 minutes š² It only takes 7 minutes to cut the whole thing out!!!!Ā

YES I did time it 𤣠It helps that there are only 3 pieces (4 if you count the second sleeve, but do we really need toĀ be knitpickyĀ š¬). The colar piece being part of the front bodice is GENIUS!!!! I decided the next day I needed to make more because, well can you ever have enough COZY cardigans? Check out the entire process in this video:Ā

The Tanacross is an AMAZING pattern for beginner and experienced sewists alike! Not only is it easy to whip up, but there are so many ways you could hack the pattern to change it up. I'm thinking about trying my hand at a fully lined hooded Tanacross next, and I DEFINITELY want to add some pockets in!!!Ā
The Tanacross comes in both ADULTĀ (xx-small - 26) sizes and KIDSĀ (12-18months - 16) sizes, and has an option to make your own fringe as well as knee and hip length versions!!!Ā
Check outĀ the AWESOME fringe on this one made by the AMAZING Sylvia:
