Maternity Maxi with Seen & Sewn Aspen Tank

Lately, I have been going through a binge of maternity sewing mostly using patterns that are not meant for maternity wear but can be adapted. From pattern to pattern this can be more or less of a challenge. When I saw that Seen & Sewn Patterns were not only looking for bloggers to sew up their totally amazing pattern but specifically looking for some to highlight hacks and different ways to showcase the pattern I knew I had to sign up.

Since summer has finally arrived in Northern Idaho I have been looking for a great base pattern to use for summer maxi dresses and I knew the Aspen Tank would be perfect for just that and since the skirt of the top already has quite a bit of ease drafted into it I really did not have to make many changes.

When cutting out the pieces the top placket stays exactly the same. For the skirt portion, you are going to want to measure your desired length. I went with floor-length but if you want tea, knee, mini, the sky is the limit really. I used the pattern piece to measure the top width and graded out to the width of fabric for the bottom width. Every other step was exactly as the pattern and instructions.

I see many more of these being sewn up to help me survive the summer! What length of the Aspen Tank are you going to sew up??
