Festival Fever Blog Tour
When I saw the opening for bloggers on the George + Ginger Festival Fever Blog Tour the fan girl in me was over the moon and I knew I had to apply! I love music and music festivals and all things George + Ginger and when I was accepted into the tour I was even more excited... but then it came time to choose what to sew. Saying I had a hard time choosing from all of the amazing patterns would be an understatement! I wanted to make something amazing and bold and something I has never made before which really limited my options because I have almost every single pattern they have ever released!
While going through the site I realized I had never made the Rival Dress. When you have more children than hands dresses get fewer and farther between in your wardrobe and you try chasing two toddlers in heels with and infant in your tula! It is not an awesome time I promise lol but I do miss the days of dressing up and getting to enjoy an evening of music and conversations that do not have anything to do with cartoon characters, how funny our bodily gas is, or why rain boots alone do not count as an outfit.
Thinking of all of the fun and amazing local shows and festivals coming up started me really thinking and getting excited about making something beautiful that would make me feel beautiful. Something that would be comfortable but still make me feel like a goddess and the Rival was the perfect fit!
I knew I wanted to do a fun trim and skip the band for this one so while searching for trim I found this fun Feather trim and just had to have it! I had a yard of this amazing Butterfly print fabric from the Boho Queens Round available for printing here and some of this black french terry which is so soft and fabulous in every way and I knew this was meant to be!
Away I went! I added a pixie hood by extending the included hood out to a point and made a slight high-low hem in the skirt. Even though it is raging hot this time of year just about everywhere this time of year it was actually snowing where I live a couple of weeks ago so I decided to go extra comfy by lining the hood and pockets with sherpa and seriously I never want to take this dress off! I get to feel like I am dressed for summer while still staying a little cozy through those evening concerts.
Let us know what concerts and festivals you will be going to this year and don't forget to check out all of the other amazing stops along the tour!!
