Fam Jam Day 6- Amanda Schildmeier w/ PSCO Thistle & Finn

Fam Jam Day 6- Amanda Schildmeier w/ PSCO Thistle & Finn

Are you all enjoying sewing up all the jammies for the #FAMJAMS yet?!  Today, it’s Amanda from LoveCraftSew on the blog to bring you even more pajama inspiration using Ash & Elm fabric!

I love that there are SO MANY fabric options at A&E from retail chunky waffle knit to custom in-house printed swim!  I wanted to sew up a super comfy pair of lounge pajamas for my middle school daughter so I opted for French Terry fabric in the soft Sage colorway.

My daughter loves the oversized trend right now and I knew right away that Petite Stitchery would have just the right patterns for this look.  For this pajama set I used the shorts from the Thistle PJ Set and Finn for the top.  This French Terry is perfect for a flowy oversized fit since it doesn’t have much vertical stretch.   I love how structured this fabric  base is with the perfect amount of horizontal stretch for pajamas (25% vertical and 65% horizontal).

I did slightly modify the shorts to have a wider waistband and added a drawstring as well as not grading for her width to purposely make the shorts more of a loose lounge fit.    For the top I did a binding instead of band for the neck.  The best part of sewing with French Terry to me is hemming everything with the wrong side facing out to get that subtle change in texture!  She LOVES these new pajamas and has already worn them non-stop since I finished sewing them up.  Anyone with pre-teens knows that is a HUGE win!!

I hope you are inspired by these looks and can’t wait to see all the pajamas you sew up with Ash & Elm!  Don’t forget to use the hashtag #FAMJAMS and share in the Facebook group as well for your chance to win fun prizes😊
