Christmas in July : Day 1

Christmas in July : Day 1

We decided it would be fun to do a Christmas in July blog series featuring a different free pattern everyday. I know  it seems like the holiday season is still so far away, but if you are anything like me and make most almost everyone something by hand it sneaks up on you then next thing you know you are at Walmart trying to find last minute gifts because you didn't get everything finished.

Don't do that!

Lets get an early start this year so when the holiday season gets here we can all enjoy the time with our families instead of stressing about project deadlines.

This series will mostly focus on clothing since that is a practical and usually appreciated gift for most of our loved ones. This also means if you are not worried about the holidays you can discover new free patterns to use for your self!  You absolutely need a new wardrobe just because right?

Today is Day 1 and I want to show you GYCT's Hattie high - low tee

This pattern is available for free if you join GYCT Designs Pattern Group facebook group. This group is awesome I love  how helpful not only the members are but also the designer herself is super friendly and helpful. Side note: my daughters favorite dress is also a GYCT pattern!  I have tested patterns for this pattern company and love the care and effort they put into their work. the only draw back to the patterns is they don't feature layers. Since they are kids patterns luckily its not a huge waste of ink to print all the sides.

For this pattern I decided to rummage through my large scraps bin and see what I had to work with.  After presenting my 2 year old with several options she finally decided on our mauve stars.  This color is a lot brighter and move vibrant than the listing photo shows.  It took me a while to convince myself to order this color but when it came in I was so glad I had.

This pattern is simple to tape, cut and construct. When finished it is a great staple piece for any little's wardrobe. Perfect for playing out side or out running errands with mom. Use a fun print and watch those kids in your life get excited when they open this present.

So Run like there is a duck chasing you to download this pattern!

Fit Note:  My daughter is right on the high end of 2t on their sizing chart and, since she has been growing like crazy so I made a 3 hoping it will fit her most of this year.

So Day 1 brigs us a fun tee for the little people. Check in tomorrow to see what Free pattern will be featured for day 2!

"See" you then - Blake
